To a young teen, what seems like hours and hours could be just be 15 minutes. Not to mention, Wood could be having Harry run thru extra drills. Just to make sure he understands what Wood was talking about.

If that was the case, I'm sure Harry would keep that bit to himself. Ron and Hermione may be Harry's best friends, but he's probably happy to get some time away from them.
