Tonight, 7pm, Puyallup Fair, Weird Al Yankovick, "The Poodle Hat Tour".
This will be my 5th time seeing Weird Al in concert, and it will also be that many times for
dotgirl (don't let her fool you in to thinking she's all hoity-toity and grown-up... she's just as immature as the rest of us)!
The FIRST time I saw Al in concert (The "Off The Deep End" Tour) was with Dotgirl and a guy named Alex, at the Paramount Theater. Second time (The "Alapalooza" Tour) was with Dotgirl and
hallerlake at the Paramount Theater. The third time (the "Bad Hair Day" tour) was with Dotgirl and a guy I knew from work who had bought the tickets for me (I think he had a crush on me), at the Paramount Theater. The fourth time (the Running With Scissors" Tour) was with Dotgirl, Mathew, and Brittany (also bumped in to my old friend Matt Pinquosh while there), at the Puyallup Fair. And now it shall be time Number 5! The "Poodle Hat" Tour, at the Puyallupe Fair, with Dotgirl,
collisions,
khristle,and Brittany!

No, don't worry about me at all.
Big dummy jerk-face.

Date: 2003-09-09 12:39 pm (UTC)I haven't been to a Weird Al concert since, uh, like '96 or something. I think he's got something against the Sacramento region.
My first Al concert was the Monkeys Renuion Tour in '86 ot '87... I can't remember. Al was the opening act. The rest of the concert was tollerable, excluding the part where Davey Jones came out in leopard print spandex leggings and a scary wig, attempting to be "relevent" by posing as a "rock star". An eleven year old kid does *not* need to see middle aged men in leopard print spandex. Seriously.
What's weird is I can't remember the second or third times I saw Al in concert... But the last time was at the State Fair and he sang to a packed crowd. We got there two hours early and snagged seats on the green, about five rows from the front. A surprising amount of people got up and left right before he came back out for an encore, so my friend Megan and I rushed up to the edge of the stage and screamed like the idiot girls we were for him while he sang "Yoda". He's so dreamy...
But the coolest thing ever was when I saw Al at the Northern Renaissance Pleasure Faire the last year it was held at Black Point. And he came in costume, too! LOL! I swear, I want to have his children...
