New Kitty!
We got a new kitten last night, and boy is he cute! 3 months old and more friendly than I have ever known a cat to be. He's black and white (more black than white), and we don't have a name for him yet... open for suggestions :)
But we have a problem... Huffy. We've had Huffy as an "only kitty" for just about a year now, and I'm not sure if he is taking this new kitten so well. We made sure to have a talk with him before the kitten got here, so we could let him know that we're not *replacing* him, and that we just wanted to get him a playmate.
So between the two cats, there is no hissing and no laid-back ears, so I assume that they are not *fighting*... they started playfully batting at eachother within like an hour of meeting each other, which was really cute :) But the big problem is that I don't think Huffy slept at all last night. He won't take his eyes off the new kitty! He has to watch the new kitty ALL THE TIME, no matter what he does. Eating? Watch the kitty! Pooping? Watch. Sleeping? Watch. MUST NOT TAKE MY EYES OFF THIS NEW KITTY!!!
So what do you think... is this a good thing or a bad thing? Is Huffy just being overly protective because he feels responsible for the baby kitty, or do you think Huffy is just being paranoid and keeping an eye on the kitten because he doesn't trust it?
Either way, I've been up since 5:30 this morning because Huffy keeps on making this "P-r-r-r-r-T!" sound all the time... half way between a meow and a purr. So I get to see Saturday Morning Cartoons again! YAY!!!
