Dissapointing

Last night's Gilmore Girls left me... dissapointed. In an entire SIX SEASONS of watching this show I've never seen such a contrived, poorly-written episode. The liberal use of Plot-Hammers was down-right insulting to us regular viewers. Have they been told to "dumb it down" for the new network? Or is it really just the loss of the shows creators that has it feeling more and more like "7th Heaven" fan-fiction?
