I have yet to run in to one that was just about imparting information. And if you want *no* feedback, there's the option to just turn off comments.

But do they use that? NO!

They use the Non-Friends screen. They basicaly want EVERYONE to *see* their problem, but only want the positive feedback from people they know will give them the feedback they want to hear.

EXAMPLE:

THE POST: "I'm so depressed and it's all because of my significant other and I miss them so much and I think I might do something drastic"

Person "A" replies "Oh no! Don't do something drastic! We all love you!"

Person "B" replies "Oh PLEASE give it a BREAK, you Drama Queen! You know that the only time you ever did anything 'drastic' was that time you tried to commit suicide by taking a whole bottle of Children's Chewable Asprin"

Person "B", of course, will be un-friended very quick, to be followed by the ambiguous "Some people just don't know what friendship is... sme people throw away trust like it means noting to them", and other such angsty passages.

I just got done weeding a bunch of these people off my Friends List. Everyone who is still on is safe (for the most part), but MAN do I get tired of it!
