Deeeeeeeeeep Spaaaaaaaace NIIIIIIIINE!!!!

[livejournal.com profile] khristle and I watched the 2-hour pilot movie/episode of Deep Space Nine last night. I remember when it debuted on TV years ago. I was stoked to see it back then, and I fell asleep some time before the first hour was done airing. Since then I've had an aversion to DS9. The only other episode I ever watched was that Trouble with Tribbles episode they did near the end of the series, and I've been meaning to get back in to it ever since.

Thank goodness for DVD!

So we waded through that two hour snoozefest last night, but I managed to stay awake and stay interested this time! The first hour is the major hurdle, but the whole "linear time" thing kept me very interested and even made me tear-up a bit at the end. "I exist here" *sniffle*

I wish I was blessed with the ability to skip over the lame parts like [livejournal.com profile] dotgirl does. She owns seasons 4-7, and not at all interested in the episodes that came before that. And from everything I've heard, she's right - it didn't really get good till Season 4, just like Next Gen and Voyager. But I really feel that it's important to have that background, ya know? You have to use seasons 1-3 as the control subject; this is what you should expect from this show. Then the later episodes just TOTALY blow you away!

But maybe that's just me. just can't jump in in the middle of something with no back story and start enjoying it.

I love Deep Space 9 Always have. The babes are smart, curvey and hot hot hot with cute noses and spots. And they all have ATTITUDE. After episode 1 of DS9, the only mamby pamby politically correct Next Gen shows I could stand were the ones with Ensign Ro in them. Love those Bajor gals.
