Try It - You'll Like It!

Everyody has at least a few non-serious diversions that they wish more people would check out. Maybe it's a favorite TV show, a movie, a particula and or CD, maybe a book? Things that make you say "DAMN I wish more people were in to this so it would be more popular and I would have more people to talk aout it with!"

Well here's you chance!

Make a list of 5 non-serious things that you wish more people were in to and post it in your Journal (or, alternately, just post it in the comments below). I promise to give at least one thing on your list a try and let you know what i think of it!

Now remember, I said NON-SERIOUS. Suggestions of "Exercise", "Diet", "The Lord" and the likes will be completely ignored. Here's the list of stuff I wish *you* were in to, so you have some point of reference:

(1) HBO's "Carnivale"
(2) The comic book "The Walking Dead"
(3) WB TV Series "Gilmore Girls"
(4) FOX TV Series "Space: Above & Beyond"
(5) Robert Aspirin's "Myth Adventures" series of books

Of course, if you're already in to any of the items I've listed, feel free to comment and let me know! As far as I know, there's only maye two or three people on my Friends List that dig that stuff.

What about exercising for the Lord?

I snubbed "Gilmore Girls" for the longest of times...but now I may have finally seen what's so attractive about the show. (And personally, that's just Alexis Bledel to me. Hem.)

What do you enjoy about it?

"What do you enjoy about it?"

What is there *not* to enjoy about it? It is smart, funny and full of pretty, pretty people!

I think that prospect was what originally turned me off about it. :> I'm starting to love Alexis Bledel though, so I think I'm gonna try and catch an episode or two when I can.

See this? This is me completely ignoring that suggestion.

Intellectually I enjoy that a slew of my favorite comedic writers (including Family Guy's creator Seth McFarlane) are regular contributors to the show, keeping it fresh, fast and funny all the time.

my Manly side enjoys watching hot chicks in tight clothes say funny things.

And the 12-year-old girl in me thrives on the drama and still has a crush on Dean even if he IS off doing his Ghostuster thing or whatever :)

LOL! Fair enough. I'll go check it out. :D

Seasons 1 through 4 are available on DVD for unde $20 a season! Buy several and give them to friends!

I agree... shows featuring "Pretty people" usually turn me off big-time. I never gave ANY of those shows chances! 9021, Melrose Place, Dawson's Creek, Felicity... why should I care? "Oh, life is so hard for a person as pretty and rich as me... woe is meeeeeeee".

I also just thought of another reason I REALLY love Gilmore Girls, though... I truly identify with one of the main characters, "Luke". I *am* Luke!

I just couldn't figure out a way to werk in "diet", too.

Myth Adventures

Oh dear lord, I use to stalk the book stores waiting for the next one. It was also the first time I found out my mom was reading the books I was, presumably to try to find out if we had something in common, we did Gleep!

If I heard it correctly, i think Jesus dieted for our sins... does that count?

Did you ever get to read the books where they had entire sections writen from the point-of-view of Gleep? Those were great! Seems there hasn't been a new volume since the early 90's, though :(

I *did*, however, find a small run of comic books that they wrote in the 80's that covers the span of time between the first and second books, where Skeeve and Ahz are running the Inn that Istvan had owned. Prety funny and RARE AS HELL stuff!

I even had a cat named Skeeve once, I was so in to those friggin' books :)

There was one that came out in September of this year, I believe, and another one that came out a couple of years ago. I haven't totally kept up on them, but I should probably check them out.
