I think I found it more sad and disturbing. Reminded me of a Faces of Death movie I saw when I was a teen and thought that movie might be cool and have never gotten the images out of my brain... To compensate I read the article listed underneath... on a lghter note!

"A witness told Austin television station KTBC the train sounded its horn right up until the accident occurred"

but did they hit the brakes?? i'm sure it wouldn't have helped any, being a train and all, but still, a little effort, ya know?

Why would anyone laugh? That's horrible. :(

You'd think she would have felt the vibrations.

Trains take 1 mile + to stop once they are at full speed.

"A witness told Austin television station KTBC the train sounded its horn right up until the accident occurred"

The irony of that is just too priceless, obviously the witness didn't know the girl either or they would have known how rediculous they sounded.

I know, I know... it's a terrible, awful, tragic story and I was ashamed that it made me burst out laughing when I first saw it. And THAT is why it makes you a horrible person if it makes you laugh!

I know! I wonder if he also took the tme to yell "Hey Deaf Girl! LOOK OUT! Can't you hear me???"

[identity profile] captain-slinky.livejournal.com 2006-03-15 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)

You'd think that SINCE SHE WAS DEAF she would stay away from certain areas, such as playing in the streets and/or train tracks!

i did really well till my husband came over around my shoulder. chalk me up *as if you already havent* as a horrible person. in all seriousness tho, she shouldnt have been near train tracks.

I KNOW! You'd think that if you're growing up deaf, you'd have like one or two things at ther VERY TOP of your list of things to avoid! Don't play in the middle of a highway, don't spend money on lots of MP3 downloads, and DON'T PLAY ON THE RAILROAD TRACKS!!!

Shit, I looked at the name of the article in the upper right hand corner of my screen, and burst out into laughter.

I'm a very terrible person. But I have an awesome sense of humor.

I hate the guilt I feel after I've laughed so hard I brought tears to my eyes. And I also feel guilty every time it makes me giggle again :)
