Not really a "Joiner"

Took Molly to The Lynnwood Public Library this morning for "Story Time". I feel bad that 98% of her time is spent hanging with me and/or Mommy, we rarely take her anyplace "Social" for kids. So today I decided it was time to plunge her in to The Wonderful World of Group Activities!

We got in the little room and sat on the floor with all the other children. We sang a song as a very nice Hippie-Man played his guitar for us, just like everybody else. At the end of the song we clapped with everybody else. And then Molly got up and said "C'mon, Daddy, let's go!"

120 seconds of this Sing-along crap and she knew she had had quite enough. Besides that, she seemed to somehow KNOW that since all the kids were* in here*, being suckers and listening to the man that smelled like a cargo van made out of Hemp, THE CHILDREN'S AREA OF THE LIBRARY WOULD BE COMPLETELY EMPTY!!! PUZZLES! PUPPETS! COMPUTERS! BOOOOOOOKS!!! And of course, THE BIG AQUARIUM FULL OF PRETTY FISHIES!!! No one to have to share with! No one to get in her way! THE LIBRARY WAS OURS!!!

We ran through the deserted children's area for a good 40 minutes (her friends Ian and Sylvia were there too because Ian ain't no sucker and Sylvia is a follower) before i convinced her it was time to go home. But on our way out, she stopped by the Story Time room to say thank you and play with their toys for a few minutes :)

Fantastic, that sounds right up my alley. :P

I was there alone - I often come while Aurelia's in preschool and do some workish stuff on my 'puter. I don't think I will be there next Monday morning, but probably will be the one after that.

I was there waiting by the door before they opened. dooooo dee doo...

Ah! Then yes, you definately saw us! I was explaining to Molly that we had to wait for The Librarian to let us in... for The Librarians are a wise, all-powerful band of wisened scholars :)
