Tingly

Comic Book Ink in Tacoma has officially ruined me for Comic Book Stores in general. If I were to re-open a shop right now, that's EXACTLY how I'd do it.

That video has left me feeling numb and tingly and post-coital. It makes me NEED to own a comic book store again :(

While I haven't seen him in years, I've known John since I was maybe 16 or so. Go John!

I love the shelf design. The slot for you to put the comic box is brilliant. I also like that all the cardboard boxes look new and not like they've been in storage for 10 years.

The openness of the store is also very good. It doesn't feel like a stereotypical geek store. It doesn't feel like a dungeon in there and I bet it doesn't smell of moldy comics like a lot of stores I've been in.

It is a silly thing, but I like that the staff wears a uniform. I've been in some stores where I'm afraid to approach someone because everyone in the store has the same greasy, filthy style of clothing on and I can't tell the staff from the customers.

The other think that I like about the store is that they are actually advertising. Smart business. Someday if I ever get to Tacoma I may visit them, even though I don't buy comic books any more.

I need to get back into comics. I never got into comics full on due to my isolation growing up. I could buy a comic and then never see another issue of the same comic for years. I would start to get into a story and then not be able to read the rest of the story. Basically my entire comic experience has consisted of reading an issue of a story somewhere in the middle of the story usually so I was never quite sure what was going on and then would never get to find out how things wrapped up with the story. I would love to get into some comics again but there are so many to pick from and I don't want to start in the middle any more. I would really appreciate any help you could offer.
