Negation

That "Little Voice" in my head... the one that has supposed to keep me from saying crap that gets me in trouble... the one that has been growing stronger and stronger every year... that "Little Voice" has developed a good rule for me that has kept me from making many, MANY comments that could be taken out of context.

The Little Voice told me that Negativity and Cynicism are easy and lazy. Whenever I am about to say/post/do something, I need to ask myself; Is this Negative? Is this Cynical? Is there a possibility that my comments and/or actions here will take away from the enjoyment of others?

It boils down to the old "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" adage. And by golly, it WORKS! I've been actively trying to stay away from negativity, and in return my life has been Drama FREE!

My only negative/disagreeing statement I can't let go of is "On Purpose?"

EXAMPLE: You say "Man oh man do I love that new Transformers Movie!", and I reply "You like that movie on purpose?", as if I really hope that your love of that thing which I despise is an accident, or the result of you losing some bet, or ANYTHING except for you voluntarily enjoying that awful, terrible thing.

That's a hard one to break. It's a knee-jerk reaction that I just can't seem to shake :(

Yep. using the Thumper Rule has saved me from many needless arguments. I recommend it highly.

What am I wearing on purpose?

Sometimes you just have to like things because its required. For example, hot dogs & cheeeaaaaap grape soda. Totally & completely trashy & without redemption, but you have to like them anyway. Like Transformers 2.
