THE DEVICE THE ANCIENTS SPOKE OF IN THEIR PROPHECIES! BEHOLD THE CORPSE OF THE IPOD SLAYER!

Found a refurbished 30GB Microsoft Zune, still sealed in the box with all the accessories PLUS a Zune Media Dock that will allow me to connect the Zune to a TV or stereo system, at a garage sale this morning for $5.

FIVE DOLLARS.

I'm really excited to charge this sucker and see how it works! From everything I heard back in the day, it really could have been an iPod Slayer if it had come from anybody but Microsoft and if it had come out just a year earlier. By the time Microsoft got this device in stores, Apple had already saturated the market with iTunes and made it the industry standard.

(Not unlike how Apple computers are better than PC's but Microsoft has already saturated the market with Windows - CALLING ALLANIS MORRISETT, WE GOTS SOME IRONY HERE!)

Hey now. I've got a GIANT (30GB), old Zune that's still chugging away and not even close to being filled. It never leaves my car and has been a pretty trusty little music player for me. I think you got a good deal!

So, since the Zune is no longer produced and is fairly obsolete, does that make it a hipster device? Am I somehow ahead of the curve because I'm using a clunky brick of an MP3 player?

Bust out your skinny jeans, fedora and ironic t-shirt, you're officially a hipster now :)

I might make this my official Portable Disneyland Device, make it my dedicated Disney Storage Drive...

Yeah, this 30gb thing is HUGE compared to modern electronics, but I like how *solid* it feels... I think this will end up being an excellnt purchase :)

I have a classic iPod, generation five (circa 2007?), which came out before the touch screens became de rigur. It has 80 gig of space, which I will likely never fill, either. Funny how small is the new large, eh?

I think I'm gonna use these 30GB as an external drive to store all my Disney stuff :)
