Arrested Guilt

Three episodes into season 4 of Arrested Development, not waiting for [livejournal.com profile] khristle before I watch it. I'm weak! And Molly is insisting on watching Yu Gi Oh instead of anything worthwhile, so I really had no choice in the matter! I mean really, what was I supposed to do? NOT watch the most highly anticipated web-exclusive continuation of the most brilliant comedy ever written???

I'm proud that I avoided it for this long... I was awake at Midnight last night, I could have started watching *then* you know...

Besides, she's more interested in Merlin right now! We'll watch Merlin together!

I'm gonna be in so much trouble...

Yes, it seems everyone freakishly loves that show.
My mom even bought me the series on DVD for Christmas one year.
I never saw the draw....
Weird?

It's not an "All Audiences" type of show, and it takes a lot of dedication to "get it", like jokes that were planted in season one not paying off till season 3, and all the teeny-tiny details that grow from a giggle to an irl lol. It has a lo0t of the same appeal as Monty Python and The Holy Grail in that while you're watching it you're all "Meh" but then it just seeps into your life and all of a sudden you're all "Wait, I have to watch that again". There's three generations of Nerds who STILL bust out laughing when they hear things like "Bring us... A SHRUBBERY!!!" or "Some call me... Tim." evn though those lines in and of themselves aren't really that funny. Arrested Development is like *that*.
