Teen Titans

Anybody on my friends list reading the new Teen Titans book? Only two issues out, and so far we have found out that Superboy is actually a clone made from the mixed DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor, and Impulse has gotten his kneecaps shot off. CRIPES! I figure in the next few issues we will find out that Robin has been supressing the memories of Batman buggering him in the middle of the night, and Wonder Girl will develope Breast Cancer. I mean, really... was the original title of this series going to be "Let's screw with all the members of Young Justice"?

Still, a very good book!

The Robin being buggered by Batman thing comes as no surprise. I always thought it was an unsavory relationship between an eccentric millionare and a teenage boy. I mean, they wear hoods and capes and say things like, "To the Batpole!"

Well it wouldn't so much be the actual *buggering* that comes as a shock, but the fact that Robin has been repressng the memories of it. Like, we'll find out that EVERYONE in the DC Universe knows about it and no one told him about it because they all thought he accepted it.

Oh, I get it! Like when someone is having an affair, and no-one wants to say anything to the person being cheated on..."Oh, well, we, um, thought you knew he was dating several members of the WNBA behind your back."

Exactly! The art of buggering wouldn't be NEARLY as traumatic as discovering the buggering and then discovering that everyone just assumed you where enjoying it... He spent all his life thinking everyone looked at him as some sort of mysterious detective of the night, but actually they all thougt he was a bit of a ponce.

I haven't read the second book yet, but I do have it coming in my box. (I just haven't picked up for 2 weeks now). I am only picking it up because I read Young Justice. I'm a little peeved they got rid of Secret. However, Impulse is my next favourite, and he's still there. However, I hate how he's being drawn. So. We'll see if I keep it. :)

I have mixed feelings about the art in this book, too. Ont he one hand, i like the more 'realistic' approach they seem to be taking, but i will always miss the Super-deformed-esque artwork of Young Justice. It really defined the characters for me, ya know? But that's where we're heading now.... the childish artowrk (and storyline) are gone... this is going to be more serious, we're growing up.

At least, that's how *I* see it.
