It *is* a Smal World, after all!

Does THIS seem like a god thing or a bad thing to you? In a nutshell, it's all about Comcast trying to buy Disney. Now to *me* this is very cool for many reasons:

(1) [livejournal.com profile] collisions will officially be my "Co-Worker".
(2) My stock options for Comcast kicked in at somewhere around $30 a share... I'm sure that owning Disney would make it jump at least a little bit, right?
(3) There would finally be some competition for the "AOL/Time/Warner" behemoth, giving people at least *two* choices for their entertainment instead of just the one.

Really, I see this as a very good thing. So why is it that s ma Dsney fans are saying that it's a BAD thing? They all groan and moan about it, but they cant pipoint *why* they're groaning and moaning. I want to know why, dammit! WHY???

Yeah, Eisner is a retard. Handing it all over to the Pixar folks is not a bad idea at all. I can see them being the next Disney...

They totaly are! Think of all the greatest Disney films of the past several years... the *good* ones that kids actually *liked* were done by Pixar! Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Bugs Life, Finding Nemo...

Then there's the bombs. Treasure Planet, Brother Bear... whatever. All Disney, all too corporate.

Very very true. And I think that that's where Disney is getting confused. They automatically associate that it must be the 3D animation that makes the films so succesful when in reality it is the heart behind them. disney killing their 2D department really isn't going to help.

Pixar worked on Monsters Inc as well didn't they? I don't think Disney has a 3D team that nice yet... God I loved Monsters Inc.
