Lost

I knew I would miss them, but I didn't think I'd feel so lost without them :(

Dropped them off at the airport, choked back the tears because I knew if I started bawling then SHE would start bawling, and I didn't want that. Tried to turn the sobs in to giggles, but as soon as I was pulling away the tears just wouldn't stop.

The thing I hate the most about crying is the complete loss of control.

So I finally stop crying enough to get back on the highway, and of course the radio is conspiring against me. In order, and I shit you not on this, these are the EXACT SONGS in the EXACT ORDER I stumbled across them while trying to get away from songs that made me cry:

  • Pearl Jam with "Where oh where can my baby be"
  • Cutting Crew singing "Don't forget me when I'm gone"
  • REO Speedwagon's "I'm gonna keep on lovin' you"
  • The Mama's & The Pappas singing "Each night before you go to bed, my bay-beeeee..."

It was then that I slammed Green Day in to the CD player and listened to American Idiot all the way home. Screw you, conspiratorial radio stations! You'll never taint my Green Day!

    Accomplished

Finally got my record player hooked up! Now I can listen to my Star Trek and Kenny Rogers records!

*EDIT* No, not Kenny Rogers in outer space... the Star Trek records are from '78 and the Kenny Rogers records are from the early 80's. Two seperate categories of listening that I am equally excited to hear once again in all their hissing-and-popping vinyl glory :)

*DOUBLE-EDIT* Come to think of it, Kenny Rogers on Star Trek could have been a good mix! Kinda like seeing Jim Carey in a dramatic roll like he did in "The Majesic"; really good but not at all what you would have expected!
