Disneyland’s Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Soarin’ Closed Indefinitely Due to OSHA Citation

You guys all read this, right? After FIFTY YEARS, in a scene reminiscent to the "Shut It All Down" scene from Ghostbustrs, the folks at OSHA decided that the lack of secondary back-up hand rails on back-stage areas that went over heigts of more than 30 inches. The inspection was prompted by an accident last November where an outside contractor (hired to clean The Matterhorn) slipped and suffered from what were reportedly "Slight Injuries".

Let that sink in. Back stage (no guests are at risk). Fifty Years. One "slight" accident 5 months ago. Th situation wasn't severe enough to get the inspectors there for almost half a year, but it IS severe enough to force the immediate and indefinite closure of three major attractions right in the middle of the busiest Spring Break season.

Sounds like SOMEBODY forgot to grease I few palms down at the OSHA offices, or maybe somebody had an axe to grind?

Facebook Experiment PHASE II

A week-and-a-half of NO Facebook gave me time to try and pinpoint the things I actually want from that particular site.

Narrowing my news feed from nearly 400 "Friends" down to about 20 is where I'm starting. 375 various militant right-wing relatives, co-workers I haven't seen in 10 years, redneck classmates from the class of '91 that I never got along with, collectors who have been out of the collectibles business for far too long, ex-spouses of friends I no longer have, people I had to "Follow" and "Like" in order to enter contests, Disney Blogs that have nothing to do with Disney for some reason, and other various bits of chaff that need to be separated from the wheat shall now be discarded!

Using it to share pictures with close family members and actual IRL friends.

STOOPID LAWNMORE :(

In a perfect storm of good health, good weather and clear schedule, I started mowing the lawn for the first time this year!

At the point where I was *exactly* half-way done with the front yard, the lawn mower pooped-out and no amount of PG-13 swearing would revive it :(

The Internet says I probably need a new carburetor diaphragm gasket, which is only $4 HOORAY!

Now all I need to know is what a carburetor diaphragm gasket looks like.

And where a carburetor diaphragm gasket goes on a lawn mower.

And where I can buy a carburetor diaphragm gasket.

And will I need tools?

And will my hands get all icky?

ANd can I just get somebody else to do it for me.
