Been a while...

AKA "Miracle of The Lamp, Revisited"
ME: Okay, did you unplug the electricity that goes to the RCA Cable Modem?

HER: Yes.

ME: Good! And just to verify, there should be NO LIGHTS lit up on the RCA Cable Modem?

HER: Well no... all those lights are still lit up. But the LAMP turned off! Did *you* do that from where you are?
Folks, ya just can't make this stuff up. And the saddest part of it is that this is not the FIRST time I have helped a customer with a magical non-electrical cable modem with the magical ability to control the lamp! It is, however, the first time the customer has accused Comcast of turning off the Lamp remotely.

Wow.

I've had some bad ones, but none quite as bad as that. >.

You have to be careful there. The government is secretly using the cable companies to spy on us and uses our computers to turn on and off appliance throughout our homes when we aren't looking so they can power the special cameras and microphones they have hidden all over the place. You aren't supposed to notice it, and if you do just put on your tin foil hat and pretend nothing happened!
