Emerald City Comic Con 2007 UPDATE

Update yesterday at the ECCC Website, haven't seen it come out in an e-mail notification yet, but there are a SLEW of NEW GUESTS! Check it out!
Michael Golden - Nightwing, Superman, Micronauts
William Harms - Impaler, Abel
Joseph Michael Linsner - Dawn, CLaws
Terry Moore - Strangers in Paradise
Joshua Ortega - Star Trek, Necromancer
Ande Parks - Capote in Kansas, Green Arrow
Mark Waid - 52, Kingdom Come, Supergirl
This update has a lot of the people *I* care about seeing. I mean yeah, sure, there's a lot of hot creators like Frank Cho and Ed Brubaker already in the lit this year, but now we've got TERRY FRICKEN' MOORE!!! Starngers in Paradise is one of those books that just leaves you so emotionally drained at the end that you HAVE to cme back for more! Then there's Jo Michael Linsner who ALWAYS attracts a bevy of beautiful scantilly-clad wimmin-folk to the shows (RAWRRR!) just because he's willing to draw sexy women with semi-realistic body types! And Mark Waid... "The Answer Man"! If it ever happened in the DC Universe, he knows about it! Shave his head and put a blue toga on him, he could be THE WATCHER (well okay, wrong universe... but you get my point!)

Just under 6 months to go... WILL YOU BE READY?!?!?! I think I better get in line now, just in case...

March 31st and April 1st. Don't worry... I'll take you under my wing and not let any of the Nerds touch you :)

btw, sorry to see you lost the GI Joe auction at the last moment... went for $71!!! What do I have in that lot that's worth $71?!?!?

That looks pretty cool. They don't have admission prices up yet. Do you know how much it has costed in the past?

Admission is pretty high since (a) it's in Seahawk Stadium and (b) the tickets are handled through Ticket Master. I *think* it was $15 for a one-day pass, $25 for a two-day. Either that or it was $12.50 for one-day, $20 for a two-day. Kids 5 and under are free.

The price is steep compared to other LOCAL shows (this coming Sunday at The Seattle Center is a show where you get in for $5 and a can of food), but it's completely worth the price of admission. The free crap they give away usually makes up for the cost of admission alone! Last year it was several T-Shirts, Posters, HeroClix and comics.

Hopefully I'll see you there!

Well my wife has said I can go (always important). I wanted to go to Norwescon but they always put it over Easter weekend and that just doesn't work for the family. So this one will do! Hurrah!

I'm used to the high fees. I play Warhammer and a tournament runs $15-$20 for one day play. Prizes are awesome though.

Oh, hey! That reminds me! ComicStop in the Everett Mall is having a few Warhammer events coming up! Let's see if I can scrounge up the link...

You gotta scroll down to the bottom to find the stuff for the everett store... most of the kewl gaming takes place at the Lynnwood location.

SO hey! I guess I'll see you at ECCC this year! We'll have to do lunch!

Cons are always more fun when you know someone there! :D

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately those events are all Warhammer 40K which is about 39K years in the future of the game I play. Poor me and my bastard child of a game! I'll keep an eye on them for the future though. If they close when they say they do I might actually be able to go. A lot of stores post that they close at 8 or 9 and then start events an hour before closing and go until 2 or 3 am. No can do.
