Must be some good deals going on out there

This weekend I have helped more people who have NEVER touched a computer in their ENTIRE LIFE set up high-speed internet on brand-new Windows Vista computers, 90% of them being new HP systems. So what I really want to know is (a) who's having deals on HP systems so good that it makes complete technophobes want to buy a new computer, and (b) WHY ARE THEY ALL CALLING *MEEEEEEE*!?!?!?!?!

I have schooled 4 customers with the information "Turning off your monitor is not the same as turning off the computer", 6 "You have to connect the mouse to the computer in order to use it", and TWO "The Keyboard... it's the rectangular thingee hooked up to your computer with all the letters and numbers on it... yes, I *have* noticed that they are not in alphabetical order, no I don't know who's hair-brained idea that was".

I'm not sure who decided the lay out of the keyboard, but it was designed to keep people for typing too fast which jammed the keys.
And yet they still expect us to type 60 words per minute on a keyboard designed to slow you down....
Crazy!

Its organized by what letters you use most often... but you probably already knew that.

Only thing missing today was the infamous "My keyboard doesn't HAVE an 'Any' Key!"

Computers seem to be uber cheap lately. Hell, even out broke asses just bought a new laptop with Vista and a duel processor for $700! The bottom-of-the-line one I bought 3 years ago put me back $1000.

I think everyone is using the old tax refund to get 'putered up. And hell, they'll sell so many with the new system because it's cheap! And once a bunch of people are using Vista, they can justify fazing out XP stuff.

Those folks a Microsoft are no dummies.

i had a few today. one lady asking if the icons with her name and her kids names that come up when she turns on the computer was the same thing as parental control? and a guy who couldn't tell the difference between his power cord, ethernet cord and mouse.
