wtf in Advertising



Not a clever edit! Not a Photoshop trickery! This is the ACTUAL Fred Meyer flyer in the Sunday, October 25th Seattle newspaper!!! You're not missing half of it, it's not being taken out of context... just a roasted chicken that somehow reminds the disembodied voice that it needs more candy and flashlight batteries.

Who IS this disembodied voice, anywho? Some weirdo about to stuff a chicken with Candy and Batteries? An Alzheimer patient who then went on to complain about the crickets and talk to his wife who died in '82? Something else???

Didn't you know? The new Fred Meyer in Lynnwood that just opened on 164th is staffed by disembodied employees who roam the store having just those kinds of conversations.

And let me tell you, its very disconcerting to be standing there fondling the organic produce & have this voice begin discussing shoe inserts & eggnog...
