If they say it enough times, it'll HAVE to be true!

Amazon has been sending me an average of TWO SPAM E-MAILS PER DAY since Thanksgiving telling me that The Amazon Kindle is The #1 Hottest Christmas Gift this Holiday Season (or the #1 Wished For Gift, or the #q1 Gift on Everybody's List, or etc, etc).

I've seen The Kindle... it's kinda nifty. But at that price, wouldn't a Netbook be more efficient?

I'm really sick of those e-mails. I keep getting them too.

I just delete them. Besides, I already own a Sony E-Reader. It doesn't restrict your purchasing locale to just Amazon.

If you want a laptop, yes. If you're me and you literally take 10 books on every plane trip you take and you only want a book and you don't want a color screen/internet/blah blah blah? Then no. That thing has saved me so much money in books (they're way cheaper electronically) and so many extra bags/weight on flights. I want to marry my Kindle. MARRY.

Random related, I found this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/who-needs-the-amazon-kindle-when-you-have-a-netbook/

My best friend's husband has a kindle, and doesn't just download from Amazon (in reference to the above poster), but he is far more tech-savvy than I. That's what started the search to find the above info, but then I got distracted by shiny things and here we are.

Sorry if this has posted like 9 times. LJ is being slow.
