Good weekend

We took Molly to see Shrek Four at the theater on Saturday, and it was SO MUCH BETTER than the third movie of the series! Good movie t end the franchise with. And the message of the movie was very timely for me, as I had been having a lot of those "I miss the Good Old Bad Days" feeling lately. It was really just *too perfect*.

Sunday morning I woke up to see "FREE PVC PIPE SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET" on Craigslist, but it was all the way over in Port Orchard which completely messed up our plans for Sunday (Yardwork and cleaning) but DUDE! FREE PVC PIPE! There's enough there to make a Braveheart-sized arsenal of weapons as well as several suits of chainmail armor! SWEET!

And once I got there I realized I was maybe 10 minutes away from Todd & Andrea's house so of course I HAD to stop in and say hi... but i warned them ahead of time that I could only stay for maybe 15 minutes before having to head out.

Some three hours later (after Doctor Who and a glimpse of the Starcraft II Beta), I was on my way home with gifts for Molly under my arm (a stuffed panda which she has named "Panda" and a stuffed elephant which she has named "Bar Keep").

On the way home my stupid GPS told me that I wanted to take the Bremerton Ferry home. "Silly GPS I don't want to take the Bremerton Ferry home, I want to DRIVE!" So the GPS said "Oh, right, gotcha... okay, go *here*" and took me to the Kingston Ferry instead. GRRRRRRRR!!!

So i finally got home just in time for Bed Time Stories with Molly ("If You Decide To Go To The Moon" is her favorite) and snuggles :)

I have a bunch of white PVC pipe that is a little bigger than a broom handle in diameter. They are quite long also. Would this be the type of stuff you are talking about?

Yup, that's the stuff! A little insulating foam and duct tape you can make them in to awesome SCA-worthy swords and other midevil weapons of war! Plus, of course, remember the guy from ECCC dressed-up as the knight from Willow? Said it's easy to make chainmail from PVC. All I need is a band saw or a jig saw and a LOT of time :)

Hmmm now that is intriguing. We could make PVC-maille.

If the Cap'n doesn't take it, that's the stuff I wanted to use to build my self-watering planterbox...

I have plenty that you are welcome to pick from... we'll combine it all and work from there!

How much do you need?

I clearly need to spend more time on craigslist. There is so much you can do with PVC pipe!

I know! I think I have enough to build the frame of a Green House for Crystal and STILL have tons left over for making weapons!
