Is it just me, or is the Trashy_Eats community over on LiveJournal seem to have been diminished by it's recent "Spotlight" status?

Is used to be a wonderful forum for those of us who delight in things such as Velveeta, Ranch Dressing and Bacon. Now it's full of "OMG U GUYZ, I JUST ATE A BAG OF CHEETOS HOW TRASHY LOL" :(

It reminds me of the first time I saw an "Army Of Darkness" T-Shirt on a kid at The Mall and I said "Oh, cool! You like the Evil Dead movies?" And the kid responded with "Uhm... I don't know... I just got this shirt at Hot Topic".

I just saw a kid with that same t-shirt yesterday and wondered that exact same thing. Has he actually "seen the movie"?

Heh. That's why I totally found that snarky post to be so humorous.

But yes, it has been brought down a few notches. I hope my bacon-on-Jaffa-Cake-roll brought back some of its original luster.

I've been way annoyed by the influx into Trashy Eats as well. "Hey guys, I like to eat vagina. That's trashy."

Also, has anyone heard of joining a community and waiting a little while to post instead of "OMG you guys I think this is amazing and let me tell you all about what I do with spray cheese which is a post you've already seen about half a million times."

People these days just don't appreciate the fine arts that are Trashiness and Geekiness. And no matter what 'They' say; imitation is NOT the highest form of flattery. It's just a demonstration of the imitators distinct lack of ability to think outside the box.
