Losing the fight

Fighting the urge to buy the Back To The Future card game for Game Night.

Losing the fight, fast... just got paid for the BIG AUCTION that I put on Ebay.

Sure I need money for Christmas and Molly's Birthday... but that game looks *suh-WEEEEET*!!!

Maybe if I get around to listing at least 5 new items on Ebay today, that will be my reward?

After doing some research, the game looks like it's adequate as far as gameplay, but never really feels like it's part of the BttF universe. You don't get to be any of the real characters; you just get to play future descendants of characters (except for Verne Brown, who was a real character). Also, the consensus is that the cards are such poor quality that you'll need to sleeve them or they'll be falling apart within a few plays.

I'd take a pass, as there are better and geekier games out there for the money.

There are a lot of deciding factors that have gone in to this purchase consideration. 1) Me and The Missus LOVE the entire BTTF trilogy very, very much. It was her one bit of Geekiness that she had before I came along :) 2) I own and very much enjoyed "Chrononauts", which is just this exact game without the BTTF branding on it. And I HEART branded versions of games! Star Trek, Disney, Scooby-Doo and Marvel Comics adorn every version of Monopoly that I own :)

In that case, go for it! Just pick up some sleeves and you should be fine.

AAAANNNDDDDD....if it turns out to be less than geekily great....you can always give it a starring role in a future auction.
