Contradictorily Confident

My Right-Wing friends want to stress three points this election:
  • 1) The Democrats have been in power this long and have accomplished NOTHING. They haven't been able to make a single change because they are too weak and wishy-washy to accomplish anything.
  • 2) The Democrats have made too many changes while they are in power, and now we live in a Fascist-Socialist Dictatorship where we are just seconds away from them taking away our guns and imposing mandatory Gay Sex Classes instead.
  • 3) America was NUMBER 1 in EVERYTHING before The Democrats took over.

Please note that these three opinions came from 3 different sources that think this is THE MESSAGE of The Right Wing. At least there weren't very many "Secret Muslim" or "Birth Certificate" comments this morning...

Guys, I love you and I think you've got some good ideas politically speaking... but could you pick just one party stance and make sure that your entire party is behind it? I'd LOVE to be behind the whole Fiscal Responsibility thing if it didn't mean that I'd also have to be lumped in with the "Gawd Hates Fags and Neeee-groes" bunch :(

This is the first time in my entire voting life that I voted the party line.

I'm pissed at the Republican Party for failing me, & convincing me that in order to qualify to be a Republican Politician you need to forget every bit of high school math you ever learned. Stupidity just pisses me off, and pretending to be stupid is even worse.

Argh.

I don't think they can nail down what they are about, only that it's the opposite of what the Democrats want. Mitt Romney and several others were for similar health care changes, then the Democrats announced they were doing them. Now making health care available is like venom from the devil that will make your children grow up infertile and stupid while killing off any old people that disagree.

There are only 2 real differences between the two parties. Both parties will take your money. Both parties will do their utmost to protect their yearly raise, regardless of the economic status of their constituents.

The Democrats will tell you what they are going to spend the money on. You won't have any say in it, but at least you'll know what it's being spent on. The Republicans will tell you it is none of your business. But they'll both spend your tax dollars.

Anyone willing to run for public office is someone I don't trust. They are supposed to be willing and able to withstand scrutiny. Yet when the inevitable dirt is dug, they all seem surprised when the dirty secrets are revealed. How stupid do they think we are?

Yet, as cumbersome a system it is, this is what we have. One of these days it will be better.
