Deadline
Today is the day I HAVE to decide what I'm doing for my Birthday (self-imposed deadline)... I'm extremely torn!
PLAN A: Wake up early, stop by a comic book store to get me Free Comic Book Day comic books, drive to Mount Vernon, drop off Molly, drive to Lynden, get hotel room, go see Evil Dead The Musical, go to Mount Vernon on Sunday (Mother's Day), have some sort of Mother's Day/Birthday Brunch.
PROS: "Evil Dead: The Musical" is one of those holy grail nerd events I NEED to see. A night in a nice hotel would be very nice. Brings us conveniently close to my mom on Mother's Day.
CONS: Lots of driving. Very expensive. No time to enjoy Free Comic Book Day. No time to go see "Thor" which opens that weekend. Very rushed.
POSSIBLE MODIFICATIONS: May leave Friday night depending on FCBD festivities in Mount Vernon/Bellingham area? Would make things much looser and less cramped.
PLAN B: Take Molly to Mount Vernon on Friday night. Come home, enjoy leisurely day of Free Comic Book Day festivities, Thor, possibly even the James Gunn movie "Super"? DOUBLE FEATURE?!?!? Get my free Birthday Burger at Red Robin, my free ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery, my free breakfast at Denny's. Play Magic: The Gathering and other games with my wife. Back up to Mount Vernon on Sunday morning for Mother's Day.
PROS: Movies, free comic books, free every meal, time alone with the wife. Minimal driving. Free Comic Book Day AND the premier of Thor on my Birthday weekend just seems like it should be a comic-themed day.
CONS: I'd miss "Evil Dead: The Musical", I'd miss out on a nifty hotel room.
POSSIBLE MODIFICATIONS: Go to The Comics Dungeon in the U-District so I could use my gift certificates.
