captain_slinky | DEF LEPPARD!!!

Tonight from 7pm till Midnight KISW (the ROCK of Seattle) will be at the Lynnwood Hooters (right on 196th Street) starting off their Ticket Blow-Out Weekend by handing out tickets to Lollapalooza, Nickleback, and DEF LEPPARD!!! The toehr two would be okay to win I guess, but come on! DEF FRICKEN' LEPPARD! The band that God has a grudge against! "I don't like you boys, so I'm going to take one of your drummer's arms. Still playing? Fine! I'll kill your lead guitarist!"

This year, I figure that the lead singer will get throat cancer, making him have to use one of those vibrating boxes to talk (like Ned on South Park). Then the keyboardist will have his hand chopped off for shoplifting while the do a concert tour somewhere in the Middle East. Then the entire band will accidentally eat a meal of plastic explosives and blow up on stage.

But you know what? For *now* I'm hot, sticky-sweet... from my head, to my feet. I'm looking forward to this show!

It's too bad they haven't done a decent record in six years. Hysteria and Pyromania are two of my all-time favorites.

Well, that's probably the *other* part of the curse put upon them. I wonder what old Gypsy lady they pissed off, anyways?

dubious bragging rights: my uncle was def leppards promotions manager Back In The Day(tm). i used to have this denim jacket with the band's logo on the back. i remember thinking i really didn't like that "rock music" my uncle promoted, but the jacket was kinda nice. hee.

I will allow the editors in my head to go ahead and cut out all the non-cool parts of that statement.
