If EVER there were a reason to travel...

WARREN ELLIS (prolific comic book writer, not the least of which being Transmet and Hellblazer) announced in his blog that he will be attending some back-water Dragon*Con in Texas this year, his first U.S. convention appearance since 1997.

There is a short list of comics pros that I wish to meet in my lifetime... Alan Moore (not bloody likely), Frank Miller, Stan Lee, Kevin Smith, Garth Ennis, and Warren Ellis. I've met all the other ones, don't need to meet any more. Ow, maybe Johnen Vasquez. Anyway...

I'm not that big a fan of traveling, but this just might be what it takes to get me in to that barren desolate wasteland known as Texas! He also *hinted* at the possibility of a West-Coast convention, but has previously ruled out San Diego. What else is left?

I hold out hope for the Seattle Con :)

I would love to meet Warren Ellis too. I had the pleasure of meeting one of my heroes at Dragon*Con a few years back, Harlan Ellison.

Dragon*Con is held in Atlanta, Georgia by the way.
