This weekend is the Seattle Center Comic Book Convention, featuring Frank Cho!

Complete information can be found BY CLICKING HERE.

Other guests include Jim Cheung, Jay Faerber, Brian DeSpain, Anthony Waters, Chris Bachalo, Ron Marz, Randy Emberlin, Todd Lockwood, and Mark Tedin (plus about a gazillion artists from Wizards of the Coast, I'm sure). Of these names, I recognize 4 and am actually *familliar with the work of* 3 of them.

Best of all, though, of the just-announced guests is Chris Bachalo. Recognize the name at all? He's the guy who did the artwork for "Death: The High Cost Of Living" back when Sandman was at the height of it's popularity. Now I just hope I can find my copy of Death #1 that I had Neil Gaiman sign back in '92!

Earlier today, I was reminded of the mid-80's comic book series "Dead World". It's a story very much in the same vein as the entire "Night Of The Living Dead" movie series mixed with a little bit of "Red Dawn", with incredible artwork by Vince Locke. It's the story of a group of firends from Suburbia who have to rely on and protect eachother after all of the recently dead people on earth suddenly rise up and start eating human flesh. Main characters die all the time, and the group of friends actually grow through all their troubles. It's just an incredible series, and I wish I could find all the issues...

"Wait a minute!" I said to myself. "This is the MODERN AGE! Everything in the world is available on eBay!"

So I went to eBay and did a search for "Dead World". Several entries came up. I was stoked! One of the first entries I clicked on was only 99-cents for the TPB of the first ten issues! Sweet!

Then I checked out all the *other* auctions this guy is putting on, and I lost it. It looks like this guy is selling his ENTIRE COLLECTION for 99-cents a pop! Everything from the first appearance of Venom to Alien Legion to Hopalong Cassidy! Golden Age! Silver Age! Current issues! Trade paperbacks!!! I was out of control! I couldn't stop bidding! These auctions end day-after-tomorrow!

Before I knew it, I had placed 50 bids. If I win, I'll be spending around $75 total. This.... THIS is how it always happens to me!
