Loved it. I thought they worked out the Clara mystery nicely and though it is one of those timey-wimey solutions that doesn't bear too much thinking about, it's fun and engaging and plays with time travel rules in a way I don't think they've really done before (making the Doctor himself someone who is impacted by the actions of others in time).
My favorite part was the River farewell (for now). I teared up at that. It was beautifully played, and though I expect she'll be back, it was nice to see that arc brought to an emotional close.
And, yes, that last bit was brilliant. I love John Hurt anyway and have for years and years (since he played the Fool in Olivier's TV adaptation of King Lear in 1983 and though I didn't remember he was the voice of Hazel in the animated adaptation of Watership Down, I'd have loved him for that had I remembered, too), so having him play the mysterious not-Doctor Doctor (and we're probably going to FINALLY find out about the Time War!!!!) is going to be brilliant.
