From a very early age, my life was infused with comic books. One of my earliest memories involves my brother trying to get me to shut up by throwing a beat-up, coverless copy of Avengers #4 at me and telling me to learn how to read it before I came back to pester him again. By all reckoning, I was 3 years old. And by Gawd, I *did* teach myself to read with that comic book! From then on, every time my brother wanted to "borrow" money from my piggy bank, he would do so by telling me that it cost *all* that money to buy me just a few comic books (at a time that comics still cost 35 to 50 cents each, and I would have 10 to 12 dollars in said Piggy). So yes... from a very early age, i was a "collector". Comics ruled my life... till I saw a movie called "The Evil Dead II". It was the most beautiful, violent, horrifying movie I had ever seen, and it still hold a very high ranking place on my list of all-time favorites. It also started me on a path of being a Bruce Campbell/Sam Raimi fanatic, collecting all sorts of odds and ends related to either one of them. Heck, I even watched Hurculese and Xena simply because those two were involved!
So here I have two seperate devotions in my life, each one detracting from the other at times. What's a proper geek to do? Well here's the answer: We'll have a Spiderman movie, directed by Sam Raimi.
By the Gawds, THIS IS THE PROMISED LAND!!!
