Winning Day (So Far)
Oct. 11th, 2005 03:46 pmToday (in order) I havewon something on Ebay that I didn't think i was gonna win at that low of a price, received TONS of money from uncleared e-checks in my PayPal that I've been waiting WEEKS for, drank 4 FREE sodas at Microsoft, and got a RETAIL (not marked "NOT FOR RESALE" or anything like that) copy of Microsoft Office Pro 2003!
Then I went to est Buy to redeem all those silly "McDonalds Best Buy Bucks", ended up getting some random game and another Diet Coke (which had a winning cap, FREE 1-LITER WOOT!). Took said random game o Walmart where I got store credit for it and promptly spent said credit on things that are for other people (which made me feel good).
Then I went over to GameStop to try and trade in some unopened Playstation games I had found for credit. Unfortunately, they no longer sell plain old Playstation games brand new - can you believe it? Trading them in as "Used" games I would have only gotten $3 credit. Had my winning day finally ended?
HELLS NO!
Guy walks in at that moment with a huge box. It's his entire XBox system and about 10 games. Seems he's retro-grading his collection, no longer interested in trying to have the latest and the greatest when it comes to gaming. Everything he needs is on the good old Playstation and/or Nintendo, so he wants to trade in all the XBox for Nintendo and Playstation games.
The three games he wants the most for the Playstation? Jut so happens that they don't have them in stock... ALSO just so happens that they're the games I have in my sweaty little hands! We work out a trade and I walk away with a copy of Soul Calibur II (which is a game I have been wanting to get anyway)!
So then I'm on my way home... it can't get any more winning today, can it? WELL GUESS WHAT? I stop to pick up the mail and there in the mailbox is my set of Walmart Exclusive Star Wars "Early Bird" action figures I ordered way back in... cripes, when was that? Way back in whenever the Revenge of The Sith figures came out!
SO! Now to complete my day, I need to find a store that will allow me to return my copy of Office Pro *WITHOUT* the receipt for "Store Credit". I think we just might be able to get a new camera out of this if we can find that!
