Sep. 28th, 2008 08:11 amThe convention in Bellingham was AWESOME! Best way to describe it would be "Intimately HUGE". Everybody I know (dealer-wise) made lots of money... eve WE made enough money to pay for the table, gas AND Super-Sizing our dinner!
Lots of folks in Costume, but only about half of 'em i saw stuck around till the time of the Costume Contest judging. Certain members of my FL will be happy to know that the one and only Fur Suit at the convention won first prize :) And she was up against an awesome array of costumes including a VERY tarty hot chick in a super-slutty "Alice in Wonderland" costume!
I was so busy all day long, I only had time to go out in to the convention once. Didn't do my usual Quarter Bin Hunt or anything like that... just bought a few comics from The Convention Organizers (Blue Water Productions) and sat-in at the Independent Film Making in Bellingham panel.
(BTW, if you're in to good-n-cheesy slasher flicks? Check out "The Taken" at http://www.whoarethetaken.com for what looks to be the finest "Big Retarded Dude In A Mask Killing Co-Eds" film that will be released directly to video this year!)

nealbailey twice - once when he had no idea who i was, and once when he DID know who i was. After a lengthy discussion at my table, I had no less than 4 different people come up to me and ask "So that book you were talking about, with the asshole protagonist... do you sell that here?" Not sure if those people ever made it over to Neal's table or not, but if they did I know they probably got no satisfaction... "Madness" is officially Out Of Print!
sinicallytwsted and her cousin(?) Alyssa where a HUGE help to us during the convention! Britt was born in to this type of stuff, but Alyssa was very new to the entire Comic Book thing... by the end of the day she was totally on it. And Britt was so good she got her "Spike" puppet that she's wanted for a few years now!
Awesome, awesome convention... if you get the chance next year, I highly recommend it :)
