Having heard from all parties except for bjorker's crew and aquatwo, it seems that everybody is all about Game Day/Night at our place! We also may be joined by baeleth, that will depend on how Amanda feels after work.

This week for snacking I will be offering a delightful assortment of fresh fruits and veggies, awesome brownies (legit ones), hard boiled eggs, potato salad and of course as always, ALL THE DELICIOUS KING COUNTY TAP WATER YOU CAN DRINK!!!

There's actually a few carbonated beverages left over from last time if anybody wants some, and we might get some heap-butt beer because khristal can use it to kill slugs if nobody drinks it.

We have a Birthday Party to go to earlier in the day, so feel free to come over any time after 3pm. Gaming will go till we are done.

At the very least we will be playing the vintage and very legendary "MythAdventures" board game, based on the MythAdventures series of books written by Robert Aspirin. Directly after that we will play an original D&D Adventure I like to call "Lost", and then if there is time left over we'll play something else TBD. And of course, it will be your opportunity to witness IN PERSON the miracle of the Wil Wheaton Blessed Dice!

This is technically the FOURTH meeting of The Mystic Order of The Sacred Slinky, and we've only ever gotten to play actual Dungeons & Dragons *once*. Let's hope that this time we make it to some actual dice-hucking and monster slaying!

Shame... kinda

I'm looking over all the stuff i got at ECCC this year, and I'm kind of ashamed. I have the same amount of stuff from THIS convention that i would have come home from any other convention with, but the difference is that at any other convention i would have spent only $20 to $30 for this amount of stuff. And how much did i spend this year?

There are 3 items that I bought this year which are my main shame-points. Three items which I broke my own Rules of Engagement in order to purchase:

• The Girl Genius "Jagermonster" Leather Back Pack - $25 Extremely nice bag, high quality, and awesomely designed. Can't order them on-line, have to get them at conventions.
  
• Star Trek: The Manga TPB Signed by Wil Wheaton - $20 Cover price is just $10, but it was the very last copy that Wil had at the convention and I kinda had him sign it before asking about the price.
  
• Kung Fu Joe DVD Movie - $15 Awesome looking action/comedy filmed entirely in Bellingham, the writer/director was there and he was an awesome guy and the trailer for the movie looked awesome and I had the cash on me and... I have no other excuse. I didn't even try to talk him down on the price. I'm so ashamed :(

That's HALF the money I spent at the convention, all on just those three items! If I had saved that money till the end of the convention, I could have QUADRUPLED the amount of stuff i came home with! As it is, all I ended up with was about two long boxes full of comics, 5 posters, 3 T-Shirts, a gazillion pins and buttons, 5 Wonder Woman tiaras, 3 Flash rings, an Easter Egg dying kit, 4 Action Figures, 5 trade paperbacks, 4 bottles of Venom Energy Drink, a ton of various Trading Cards, 2 pieces of original artwork and of course the three items listed above. How sad :(

Most days I'm lucky if I can get Molly to wear even a T-Shirt. A full set of clothing including pants, shirt AND underwear is a monumental feat of which legend is born. And even if i *do* gat her to put on any amount of clothing, it only takes a few moments of me checking my e-mail or updating my blog before I hear "Daaaaaaadeeeeee... Looky me! I'm NAKEEE!"

However, in her ongoing efforts to keep me completely off-balance, today she is wearing a dress, 2 t-shirts, a sweater, a coat, 2 pairs of underwear, a pair of pajama bottoms and a pair of jeans. Oh, and her Spongebob shoes.

GET OFF HER DAMN LAWN YOU KIDS!

For the next 29 Days, dotgirl is an old fart just like me. Or, alternately, I'm a hip young whipper-snapper just like her. Either way, it's her Birthday and she can cry if she wants to :)

And to think it only took me 16 years of knowing her till i finally remembered which day in April it is!
