Breakfast: Pork Chop and Chicken Thigh (would make a great name for a Judy Blume YA novel)
Lunch: Skip
Dinner: Chicken Taco Salad from Taco Time NW (which is aparently a completely different thing than the Taco Time restaurants that can be found elsewhere in the country)

Gym: None, 28.8 Miles total

Clean: We'll call it a 45/15?

A few years ago, I sold a bunch of stuff out of my storage unit at a local Flea Market and over the course of the summer made enough money to purchase a portable air conditioning unit. BEST PURCHASE EVAR! However, it has a ridiculously small internal water reservoir, meaning that you can only run it for maybe two hours before having to turn it off and go through a very difficult draining process. Our solution to this? We put the AC unit up on some milk crates, leave the drainage spout open and let it drain in to a giant bucket all night long. GENIUS!

...Except for when you forget to empty the bucket and it overflows for a few days, soaking the bedroom carpet during a time where the temperature in the bedroom is perfect for growing some really funky smells :(

And so yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] khristle and I took turns trying to clear our bedroom while a dehumidifier ran. No matter what we removed, the smell remained - till be broke down and removed our vintage 1940's chest of drawers. Once that large, heavy piece of furniture was out of the room, it started smelling SO MUCH BETTER. We still need to treat the carpet with some baking soda and vacuum it all up with a wet/dry vac, but it's already liveable once again :)

I also cleaned Molly's bedroom (kind of) so that my Sister (the one who got to pal around with Emo Phillips) could spend the night.

Today, we go to the Goodwill Outlet and then go to get my allergy shot!

I picked up an old VHS tape from the Goodwill Outlet today that was simply marked as "Cartoons". I took the tape over to their testing station, where I rewound the tape and hit play. And then, as I stared at the video screen in front of me like one of those kids from the "The Ring" movies, I pressed the "FFWDSCAN" button to confirm that I was seeing what I was seeing... and...

OMG YOU GUYS IT'S A SIX-HOUR TAPE OF A DISNEY CHANNEL FREE PREVIEW WEEKEND FROM THE 80'S!!!

You younger kids may not believe this, but from it's inception back in 1983 all the way till 1997, The Disney Channel was a PAY TV SERVICE, not unlike Showtime or HBO. It wasn't just one of the "filler channels" that came with your basic cable subscription. It was INCREDIBLE, full of classic Disney movies and television as well as new programming based on classic Disney characters.

Ask most any Disney fan who lived through the 80's if they'd pay to have that channel back, and most likely they'll just hand you a blank check. It was THAT GOOD.

Once or twice a year, The Disney Channel would unscramble their signal for a full weekend so people could check it out and get hooked :)

EVERYONE I knew who had cable tv, bought a batch of blank video tapes for this weekend every year. And now that I'm living in The Future, I keep looking at the home-recorded video tapes at every single thrift store and garage sale in hopes of finding a tape like this :)

Now I need to go hook up my VCR :)
