Crystal made sure that I got to the Library last night so I could get something new to read, since I worked so hard to find something for her to read recently. She loves to read, and I need to remind her of that sometimes I guess :) Unfortunately, there wasn't anything I was really interested in reading!

The last thing(s) I read for myself were the Hunger Games trilogy and Ready Player One, because YA Sci-Fi is where it's at - light but engaging. After that I've been all about reading the various comics I picked up at last year's Emerald City Comic Con, which included giant amounts of Rogue Trooper and vintage Fantastic Four, but I finished all of that abut two months ago. I've been bookless ever since :(

You *need* something awesome to read or else you go slightly mad, don't you? Without that promise of an escape, without being able to say "Ugh I just wish I were reading my book right now", things start to atrophy. My mind needs the stimulus!

And so there I was in the Library, trying to think of what I wanted to read; nothing had been suggested or reccomended to me in quite a while that I could remember, and I knew that I would remember it all just as soon as I got home... and then it hit me.

VONNEGUT!

Despite several constant recommendations from folks I admire, I have never read a Kurt Vonnegut novel!

Yes you may go ahead and lose all sorts of respect for me now.

So I picked up Slaughterhouse Five and Cat's Cradle.
