The Miracle of The Lamp

The customer is extremely perplexed because the lights on her cable modem all went out, so I had her verify that the modem was plugged in to an active electrical outlet.

"Well OF COURSE it's plugged in to an electrical outlet!" she declared.

So once again to further verify that it was plugged in to an electrical outlet, I asked her to *unplug* the modem and then plug it in to a different outlet.

And THAT is when The Miracle of The Lamp occoured!

For when she unplugged the cable modem, the lamp on her desk mysteriously turned itself off!

This of course angered her because not only did we break her internet, but now we had broken her lamp.

So I had her plug her cable modem back in and MIRACLE OF MIRACLES HER LAMP MAGICALLY TURNED ITSELF BACK ON!!!

I asked her if it was possible that she might have been pulling the plug to the lamp instead of the plug to the modem and she became VERY insulted that I would suggest that she can't tell the difference between a lamp and a cable modem. ALso, she does not have time to deal with any of this nonsense and DEMANDS that we send a technician out to fix her broken internet and lamp.

Please tell me that you asked her to tie her tubes and that she remove herself from the gene pool?

We need to add to the troubleshooting instructions something like "Remove the door and safety catch from your Microwave oven. Strap the microwave to your lover abdomen and turn it on "high" for 20 to 30 minutes".
