When you google the term "Brian Pierce", you get absolutely no information about me for at least the first 15 pages of search results (believe me, I just spent a half hour checking). I'm not even sure if I ever show up in those results at all!

Thing is, those 15 pages of search results I went through weren't even people *trying* to have a web presence. They were all casual mentions of the name "Brian Pierce" (and NOT ME) in stuff like public records, sports scores and personell directories of companies.

This makes me sad :(

How do I change this? How do i get a web presence? How do I make it so that when someone Googles me the "I'm Feeling Lucky" result becomes ME???

Get a web site. Make online friends. Get them to link to you.

(Livejournal doesn't count.)

It could be worse you know

When I google my name the first thing that comes up is the King County court docket. How comforting is that? I did a serious double take. Had someone stolen my identity and run up a series of crimes? What if dear old Comcast randomly re-screens their employees? Comcast does not employ felons. I got that nice cold feeling in my gut before I realized that there is an attorney whoes name is spelled just like mine. Which is kinda odd, because my first name is spelled sorta unique here in the old USofA.
