Steve Gerber, creator of "Howard The Duck" passes away at age 60
Howard the Duck was one of the first "Adult" (read: "Non-Superhero") comic books I ever bought. It was Howard the Duck Annual #1, got it at a garage sale when i was maybe 7 or 8 years old. I had no idea what it was, all i knew was that it had a lot of words.
Since then I have accumulated a near-complete run of Howard the Duck comics and i can tell you that they are without a doubt the MOST late-70's comic book you'll ever read. If some Alien were to come down and ask you "EARTHLING! WHAT IS THIS PHENOMENON KNOWN AS THE SEVENTIES?!?!?" you could just hand him these comics and he'd know it all perfectly.
Steve Gerber was also the creator of the 80's cartoon "Thundarr the Barbarian", which holds a special place in every 30-something's heart.
And let's not forget that he was the first person to put the band members of 70's Super-Group "KISS"! And that he was one of the chief creators behind Malibu Comics' "Ultraverse"!
**EDIT** Creepy to read the last post that he ever mad ein his blog just a few days ago...

Nothing new to report medically. I’m up in the middle of the night, working on Doctor Fate. Will let all of you know what’s going on with that in a day or so.
