Been fighting this for about 20 hours now... I think I'm sick. I'm weak and short of breath and my chest feels tight.

I know... Fat guy, lots of strenuous stuff yesterday... Heart Attack, right? But no!

No pains or numbness in any extremities, and doing an "Internal Check" i can tell that my heart is pumping just fine. No fluttering, no racing, no pounding... just the nice relaxed rhythmic beating of a relaxed heart.

Head ache. Body aches. Unable to stay focused or concentrated for more than a few moments at a time.

Oh, and I'm RAVENOUSLY hungry but unable to eat more than a few bites before i feel like I can't eat any more.

Yeah, that sums it up... it's the same feeling I get when I've gone for 24 hours or so without eating :(

Shortness of breath and a tight chest is also a sign of acid reflux.

Believe me on this. I know.

You could be on to something here. That could also explain why he wants to eat...I know when I had reflux eating would make things feel better. (more stuff in your stomach to keep absorb the acid!)

I've recently read about lap banders getting bad reflux. I thought it was supposed to be almost a magical cure :(

I've had episodes of reflux fairly recently due to stress tightening up my band, but it was the kind that woke me up at night coughing rather than these symptoms. It sounds like maybe your band could have gotten tighter since you can't eat more than a few bites, but I wasn't hungry AT ALL when this happened to me.

The head and body aches could be related to the shortness of breath. Do you have high blood pressure? That can make you feel foggy or unable to concentrate.

It is possible to suffer a heart attack without feeling/hearing weird heartbeats, depending on what part of the heart is suffering the attack.

If your symptoms persist to tomorrow, I would go get it checked out. The biggest mistake people make is waiting too long to go see someone, and usually the damage is already done by the time they drag themselves in.

(I am a nursing student, btw- not completely talking out of my ass here.) :)

Reflux sucks. I have had to switch to an incredibly bland diet as of late because of it. My doctor tells me that if I lose more weight it will get better but for now no spicy food, which is sad.
