I miss the old Safeway. But I believe it was on 10th. But I could be wrong.
Anyway, that was the BEST store to shop at. I remember when the moved. I cried because the carnival had nowhere to set up after that. They tried a few places, but it was never the same.
Thrifty was also a great place. They were open 24 hours when we lived on 16th, so we did all of our shopping in the middle of the night. It was wonderful. No screaming kids, no crowds. Just midnight shopping at its best.
When I came back from AZ to find it gone... not just something different but completely RIPPED out of the ground and replaced by a new building... It was a terrible thing.
