(Almost) Damned
Nov. 21st, 2009 07:58 pmI almost made it... almost.
I had SWORN that I would NOT let myself become involved with Christmas until one of two things happened; The Day After Thanksgiving, or The Day That A Local Radio Station started playing Christmas Music.
I almost failed when the Comcast "Sounds Of The Seasons" digital radio station started playing Christmas, but I prevailed.
But as of this morning it had just become to much of a temptation. It's been non-stop Christmas Music and DVD's all day long.
I felt so ashamed :(
BUT WAIT! I think I can get off on a technicality! TBS is showing the animated "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" tonight! And as we all know, The Holiday Season *can* be jump-started by an early showing of any of The Big Ten* at any time (as long as it's not on the ABC Family Channel, because they have "Countdown To Christmas" marathons starting in January and every month thereafter).
THE HOLIDAY SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED! I'M IN THE CLEAR!!!
*("The Big Ten" are the ten Holiday Specials/Movies that are SO AWESOME they can kick-start The Holiday Season with their residual amounts of Christmas Cheer. They are: How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Here Comes Santa Claus, Miracle on 34th Street, It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, The Christmas Episode of The Andy Griffith Show, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Home Alone and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. All other Christmas films and/or specials are still wonderful, but only these 10 have any POWER)
