First of all, full disclosure; Click HERE for today's Groupon so I'll get credit. Today's Groupon is once again the $13 for $30 worth of comics at The Comics Dungeon in The U-District. I think they're technically in Wallingford but just barely? They're right there across the street from Dicks so you can get your grub-on while you enjoy your Groupon :)
Last time they did this deal, they had a limit of three Groupons per customer and ended up having to disappoint a lot of potential customers by pointing out that you could only use one Groupon at a time and that you had to pay the sales tax on your own. THIS time it's a limit of one Groupon per customer, PERIOD (unless somebody buys you a gift Groupon). That's good... less confusion :)
The Comics Dungeon is in semi-retirement I guess? Focusing less on new comics and trying to clear out some 30 year of back issue by sticking them in bundles. Last time I picked up nice sets of Atomic Robo and Hex for prices I would have been more than happy to pay full price for, so paying just $13 for them was even better; in the end I paid about 50-cents per comic for stuff I would have been okay with paying $1 to $2 for. So HOORAY!
They also have a very nice selection of T-Shirts available, as well as Magic: The Gathering cards and a limited supply of toys. Plenty of stuff that made me want to pend the entire $90 last time but I'll have to split it up in to three or 4 trips now.
So go get you some cheap comics!
