Interactive post! In the comments, please answer for me... If you wanted to hook somebody on the original Star Trek but had to do it in 5 episodes or less, WHICH FIVE EPISODES WOULD YOU CHOOSE?!?!?

Take in to account that her other sci-fi interests include Firefly, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Buffy and Angel.

Also take in to account that she's seen The Menagerie Part I and II, and The Trouble With Tribbles.

The Corbomite Maneuver is a personal favorite of mine. (For sheer badness and low quality effects value, of course. Not for the storyline, which is kind of lame.)
Other options: Mirror, Mirror, The City on the Edge of Forever, and Amok Time.

I also like Miri, but maybe that's not the best introduction to the series.

Requiem for Methusalah, Journey to Babel, Bread and Circuses, I, Mudd, are also pretty good. Musical Junkie's selections are excellent as well.

Viewed as a whole, the entire series still holds up pretty well, even after 40 plus years.

I only have 2 episodes to recommend but she already watched Trouble With Tribbles so what's left to recommend is Mirror Mirror. Sorry to say my original series knowledge is a bit fuzzy *hangs my head in shame*
