That behavior is definitely obnoxious. I'm with sasjhwa in that I think it takes too much effort to hate, and neither instance sounds worth it in and of itself. Hate tends to indicate an active state, and I'd rather just ignore them and move on with life. Let them be mired in whatever baggage they have, but keep me out of it!
