My Five-Dollar Zune...

captain_slinkyMy five-dollar Microsoft Zune that I got a garage sale this morning is as old as Molly (copyright 2000-2006 Microsoft) and running Software Version 1.0...
At first, the modern-day Zune software thought I was trying to do a joke or something. The error message said something like "Uh huh, SUUUUURE that's a Zune. Okay, buddy, I'll connect to your 'Zune'... sure I will." And then it just kind of ignored me and was rude to me.
ME: Hey Zune Software, would you sync this to my Zune please?
ZSW: Pfft, sure, whatever... (wiggles fingers at my USB connection) ...there. It's on your "Zune" now.
ME: No it's not, you just wiggled your fingers at my USB connection!
ZSF: This has gone beyond insulting and is now just sad. Please stop.
...And then it no longer recognized my Zune. Lucky for me it's a MICROSOFT PRODUCT, so I knew how to fix it - UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL. *Now* the newly installed Zune Software is saying "HOLY CRAP THAT'S AN OLD ZUNE AND NOT JUST A CALCULATOR WITH A USB CORD! You're gonna need UPDATES! Lots and lots of slow, tedious UPDATES."
So now it's updating and I have high hopes for this device :)
