A Pleasant Haunting

My Dad has been in my dreams for a solid WEEK now. Not really as an active element of the dream, mind you... he's always on his way to go do something or just part of whatever is going on. Like he interrupts my ride on the train at Disneyland to get the keys to the truck from me so he can go fishing, or he's in line in front of me at the buffet asking me to hand him one of those rolls, or he's just sitting in his chair drinking a glass of wine watching Molly and I play, or making a pizza in the kitchen out on the farm while an ever-changing roster of my childhood friends are building stuff with Lego in the living room...
It's been a weird week of dreams for me, because usually my dreams are super-surreal and crazy. This week, though, it's been really simple real-life stuff. The most fantastical element of any dream this week was the inclusion of Alton Brown in last night's "Buffet" dream.
Every time I see him in one of these dreams, I think "Oh there's Dad! He's dead; this is a dream" and Dad knows that he's dead and that it's a dream and he seems thankful for having been allowed to come in and share my Dreamspace with me :)
(and yes, TINA, I know I just broke my own rule regarding "Dream Posts" never having more than one sentence about the dream).
