I think that the group of people who believe any given "controversy" or "conspiracy theory" is made up of 4 groups:

• Those who stand to make a profit from it
• Those who truly believe it despite mountains of proof (or "Proof", in sarcastic quotation marks because no amount of "Proof" will ever beat your "Gut Feeling")
• Those who are subtly, sarcastically mocking it so successfully that none of the other groups catch on
• Those who are using it as a bargaining chip to recruit more people into their own pet conspiracy theory, ie "If I go along with their silly thing about how Obama is an Alien from Neptune, then maybe I can illuminate them to THE TRUTH about how Fluoride in our drinking water does nothing but make our teeth trackable by satellite".

And no, Beth, this post ins't about *you*... OR IS IT?!?!?</>
