PART THE FIRST: Have you heard of "Disneybound" or "Disneybound Fashion"? It's super-awesome! It's dressing in nice, real-world, non-costume clothes that could easily remind you of a Disney character without actually having a picture of that character. The second picture above, you'll see a young person "Disneybound" as Peter Pan, isn't that cute? Check out this cute "Woody & Bo Peep" Disneybound couple!

ISN'T THAT ADORABLE?!?!? It's like getting to wear a costume of a cartoon character out in public without getting arrested for public indecency in the case of Winnie The Pooh and/or Donald Duck (no pants) and/or not looking like some creeper trolling for kindergartners in your home-made Mickey Mouse costume ("I call my Basement Dimsleyland"). Cute, cute, CUTE! I am in full support of Disneybound fashion!

PART THE SECOND: I despise the current trend of redesigning iconic Super Hero costumes to look like a "Comicbound Fashion" version of the character. The most prominent example of this is the current wave of artists that seem determined to reinvent Wonder Woman.

She's not the only one, but the majority of these revamps involve the same scheme - Character finds a T-shirt with their logo on it, maybe puts a leather jacket over it, or Character finds a leather jacket with their logo already on it. One way or another, dammit, we're getting you in to a leather jacket!

I like my Super Heroes to look like Super Heroes. I like spandex bodysuits, swimsuits and capes. I like them to basically be Professional Wrestlers in flamboyant outfits. The costumes are what differentiate Super Heroes from regular old Action Heroes. Costumes are what make The Avengers in to The Avengers instead of The A-Team. They're what make The Punisher not be Mac Bolan. They keep Batman from being Doc Savage, Captain America from being Jason Bourne and Spider-Man from being Woody Allen.

First of all, Spiderman, no matter what his iteration, would NEVER be Woody Allen. Not even the Red Skull would be Woody Allen. Woody Allen is FAR to creepy for any hero/villain to be.

Updating costumes/uniforms has been a staple of comicdom since the beginning. At least the 'Comicbound Fashion' costumes are more practical than the outfit Wonder Woman has consistently shown up in since she arrived in the comic 'verse. Fighting in a strapless swimsuit and heeled boots is just asking for a wardrobe malfunction to happen. Leather jackets can contain a multitude of pockets to conceal stuff in.

As for capes; I agree with Edna Mode. Those have too much fatal potential. Getting sucked into a jets' turbines would not end well for anyone.

I know what you mean. I don't read superhero comics for regular people. I read them for superheroes. Now, two of these examples aren't a problem for me. I really like the new Batgirl outfit. It looks practical but is definitely a costume still, in my opinion. Wolverine is wearing what looks like an off-duty style and makes sense for him, but I want to see him in his superhero outfit when he's with the team. But the WW and Superman ones just look like regular people.
